Group Camping| Famiy Reunion

Make your next family reunion camping style. What a fun way to spend time catching up with family members enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Camping in group settings like this is a great idea because there are countless things for everyone to do. Weather is it planning group swim time or floating on the river taking the boats out for a ride, playing volleyball, baseball or football, hiking bug catching, bird watching the list could go on and on for everything that could be enjoyed while group camping.

Unlimited Outdoor Space!

Being cooped up with your family for several days in a beach house, condo resort or otherwise can get a little stuffy. Although those places are great fun as well, group camping just brings a whole element of fun to the table. The kids can run play and be noisy without irritating everyone in the “house” since those things are more than expected outside.

Be prepared. Make your reservations well in advance to make sure there is more than enough space for everyone to stay. Many campgrounds even have special campsites for larger groups. Deciding in advance how much room your group will need will save a lot of confusion and frustration in the long run. If you are the one camping the group camp trip, will you also be making all the needed reservations or will each family be responsible for their own reservations.

Make sure you have enough food. This is one of the most important aspects of group camping. This is a situation where it is better to have more than enough since camping tends to bring the hunger out in people.

Something to think about is, will each family be responsible for their families food needs or will you split dinner duties sharing the load? Will all the food be pooled together or will each family keep their food separate? Knowing the answer to these questions well in advance will give you ample opportunity to make sure there is plenty of food and drinks to go around. Having plenty of drinks on hand will prevent anyone from over heating and dehydrating. Being prepared will keep the fun flowing.

Make sure everyone who is camping in your group is conscience of keeping the area clean. Not only because many camp grounds will charge you a cleaning fee is trash is left behind but because we always want to have our environment on our mind. So make sure you always clean up after yourselves and follow the rules of the campground, individually as well as being a group.

A little pre-planning will go a long way in making your camping trip the most fun it could be. Camping is a great way to enjoy large group activities so come prepared to ensure focusing your time and attention on the most important part of group camping- HAVING FUN!
