Trailer Camping

You will first want to decide what your camping and traveling needs are before purchasing a Travel Trailer for camping.

Why is trailer camping so much fun?

You take all the fun and beauty of camping and just leave out the tent. Tent camping is not for everyone.

Trailers come in all different sizes and shapes for that matter. When you say the word trailer, many people envision a large, expensive- 'I could never afford that' Trailer and although those trailers are very nice that is not exactly what we are referring to here.

Camping trailers can be bought for the back of a truck bed. These are very nice because you will not have to tow anything. They are easy to put on and off, or just leave on. They tend to be roomy and comfortable. This is also nice if you have a pull behind trailer you want to load all your camping gear such as bikes, tent etc. and you still have your nice camping trailer to sleep in.

If a truck bed trailer is not your style then you may do well to consider a pop-up trailer. Pop-up trailers are great because they are easy to store when they are not used and they have a surprising amount of space. Many times pop-up trailers are equipped with a bed or two as well as a table. Some of the larger pop-up trailers also come with a mini kitchen that is an upgraded the average pop-up will not have. Pop up trailers also come in many sizes. Little mini pop-up trailers that can be pulled easily by a car and still comfortably sleep 4 and still has room for a table, or larger pop-up trailers with a/c and extra pop-outs for more room. When it comes to these little trailers you really can not go wrong. They are very convenient to have and generally cost very little. Maintenance on these trailers is very simple. Besides things you would already do like make sure no food is left over to keep unwanted bugs outside, you would do well to keep these trailers under cover- out of the elements. Moisture can cause mildew to grow since pop-up trailers are made in a canvas material. If mildew does show up, a simple wipe down will do the job. Before use it is good to open the trailer up and allow it to air out a bit.

If you need a bit more space and luxury you can go another step up and check out the 13 ft, 16 ft even 19 ft trailers that are still manageable to pull and can provide much more room and a more solid feeling in case of storms and rain. You can generally find these trailers at a good price used. But if you choose to buy new there are many companies that offer high quality trailers and can build tailored to your needs. Some trailers even come equipped to carry gear such as bikes, 4 wheelers and motor cycles, these are specialty trailers geared toward those activities

With a camping travel trailer you will get the convenience of camping with your own toilet, sometimes a shower, kitchen, sink, table and bed. This is even handy if you have been wanting to try camping in a more secluded area but have never wanted to stray too far from park areas with such luxuries.

These are just a couple aspects of trailer camping. You get the same enjoyment of being in the outdoors and often can stay at the same places a tent can just with a little bit more convenience and comfort.
